Gluten Free Thanksgiving Recap
We hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving! We’re back with a recap of how our first gluten free one went. It was great spending time with family and the food was great, too! We did make a few modifications based on last minute requests, so here’s what we ended up having for our gluten free girl:
Veggies and Dip - The new dip by Daisy called Creamy Ranch Dip was pretty good. It could have been more flavorful, though. At least it was a clean and gluten free ingredient dip. We will buy it again!
Salad - We made the salad from Cameron Mitchell restaurants called the Two Apple Salad. It was delicious, as usual.
Stuffing - Our girlie wasn’t a big fan of the Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Stuffing Mix. She’s not a big stuffing girlie, though, so maybe we won’t need to worry about stuffing for her just yet.
Green Bean Casserole - I found the gluten free Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom soup, however, our girl didn’t seem excited about this creamy sauce on green beans, so we just made regular green beans for her instead.
Gravy - She really liked the Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Turkey Gravy. I tried it, too, and it was remarkably close to regular gravy. This is a win!
Rolls - Unfortunately, I ran out of time to make the gluten free rolls from scratch. I will definitely try them another time. For time sake, I made Sweet Loren’s Puff Pastry as a roll substitute. I added Nutella to a few of them and those were our girl’s favorite.
Pumpkin Pie - Our girlie and my husband both LOVED the Katz Gluten Free Personal Size Pumpkin Pie. I’m going to do a separate post about this since it was so great!
Things didn’t end up exactly as planned, but our girl had plenty on her plate and a full belly at the end of Thanksgiving Day, and that is something to be thankful for!
