New York City Trip - Day 2
It was day 2 of our trip to New York City and I have to share one of our new FAVORITE gluten free dessert places, Posh Pop Bakeshop! This was the highlight of the day and honestly, one of the highlights of the trip. Our girlie loves sweets of all kinds, and this place had so many to choose from and they were all gluten free. We really wish there was one of these closer to home. I did see on their website that they ship all across the country, so maybe for a special occasion, we can have them delivered. Our girlie ordered the mini chocolate glazed donuts and ate them for both breakfast and dessert. She said they were amazing! We shared the rest of the desserts, which we all loved. We tried the Boston Cream Cheesecake Bar, the Cherry Pie Cheesecake Bar, and the Slutty Brownie (haha).
This was our big Broadway day going to see Wicked (which our girlie also loved!), so we had a small breakfast in the room. We decided to do brunch since we were going to a matinee, but I we couldn’t get a reservation for anywhere close by. We called the restaurant in the hotel, Sessions Restaurant in the Hard Rock Hotel. I asked them about their breakfast and whether we could do gluten free and they were so accommodating! Our girlie was able to do eggs, bacon, potatoes and gluten free toast. It was so good that we actually came back on our last day before going to the airport.
We had a little time to kill before our show so we stopped into the M&M’s Store. Our girlie wanted to get a small bag of M&M’s but we noticed a sign that said they may contain wheat/gluten. We really appreciated that they had the sign, so she didn’t waste her time in that section - her brother loved it, though.
Finally, we ended the night at Friedman’s Restaurant. They do an amazing job with gluten free offerings, so we decided to make a reservation. Our girlie was really excited, too, because not only did they have a lot of gluten free options, they had Broadway singing waiters and waitresses who sang throughout dinner. It was a great experience! Especially after a Broadway show when you’re in the singing mood!
It was a great day - with a few more to go! Day 3 and 4 coming up later this week!
